Strawberry Fizz Non-Alcoholic Vegan Cocktail

I recently posted a roundup of 20 vegan non-alcoholic drinks for Dry January and it kinda inspired me to create my own non-alcoholic beverage recipe.

I know this Strawberry Fizz mocktail is going to be a hit in your household, especially if you have younger family members. My kids certainly enjoyed test-tasting the recipe while I was working on it.

While strawberries may not yet be in season in your part of the world, the beauty of this recipe is that it actually uses strawberry jam to capture the sweetness and flavor of this summer fruit.

So that means you don’t have to wait until the fresh fruit arrives to enjoy this cocktail (although you really should bookmark this recipe and make it again subbing crushed, fresh strawberries in place of the jam once they’re back in season again).

You probably even have the majority of the ingredients in your kitchen pantry right now, even the magic bean water – Aquafaba (just make some hummus with the chickpeas).

So what are you waiting for? Go shake up a Strawberry Fizz cocktail and then let me know in the comments section what you think. Cheers!

Strawberry Fizz Non-Alcoholic Vegan Cocktail

Sweet and creamy, this strawberry fizz cocktail is made out of simple ingredients, most of which you probably already have in your kitchen cupboards. A lovely treat, perfect for Dry January! Makes 1 drink

Ingredients:

  • 2 Tbsp. coconut milk
  • 2 Tbsp. strawberry jam
  • 1 Tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. aquafaba (liquid from canned chickpeas)
  • 2 to 3 oz. club soda

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients EXCEPT club soda in a cocktail shaker. Add a handful of ice and cover with shaker lid.
  2. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  3. Pour into a highball glass.
  4. Slowly pour in club soda. The froth will rise up. Keep pouring until the froth is well above the lip of the glass. Serve immediately.

Notes: The aquafaba replaces egg whites in a typical fizz and is used just to give it a frothy head. It doesn’t add much flavor and can be omitted if you don’t want the frothy head.
