A dressing can be the final touch that makes a meal stand out and helps to balance all the flavors of the ingredients in your dish.

Creamy and flavorsome, this simple tahini dressing recipe is not only vegan, it’s also everything you’d want in a salad dressing. I think you’re going to love it!

Obviously, the key ingredient in this dressing is Tahini. If you haven’t heard of Tahini before, basically it’s a paste that’s made out of sesame seeds.

It’s a key ingredient in that vegan favorite – hummus – and it adds a creamy, nutty flavor.

My tip for working with Tahini is to buy a small pot at a time, unless you like to use it a lot. Sometimes if the Tahini is old, it can start to go a little bitter as the oils from the sesame seeds go rancid.

But don’t let that put you off!

Tahini Dressing

This dressing is so quick and easy to make. All you need to do is put all the ingredients into a blender, whizz it up until combined and it’s done.

If you like it, you can even make up a big batch and keep it in the fridge to use throughout the week. It tastes so much better than shop-bought dressings and it’s much better for you – simple, whole food ingredients and no nasties!

But aside from salads, you could easily pour this dressing over baked veggies, couscous or quinoa, Buddha bowls etc.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup Tahini
  • ¼ cup Water
  • 1 Lemon juiced
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Dried shallots optional
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend on high for a few minutes until smooth. Store in an airtight container for up to one week in the refrigerator.
