Tahini Lime Sauce

A great sauce can elevate a bland and boring meal into a taste sensation. But before you reach for the unhealthy store-bought stuff, give my tahini lime sauce recipe a try.

Made with only four simple and healthy ingredients, the result is a nutty, creamy and tangy sauce that goes great as a condiment to buddha bowls, salads and as a dip alongside grilled veggies and tofu.

Aside from being a crucial ingredient in that vegan favorite – hummus! – tahini also makes a delicious tasting stand out star in sauces. In fact, it also carries with it some surprising health benefits.

Made from toasted and ground sesame seeds, it’s full of healthy fats, vitamins and minerals, including: thiamine, vitamin B6, phosphorus and manganese.

It’s also rich in antioxidants and may have antibacterial properties too!

When teamed up with maple syrup, soy sauce and lime juice, the tahini really shines and creates a sauce that hits all the crucial flavor notes; sweet, salty, sour and umami – you’ll be putting it on everything!

The sauce should last up to a week if kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator so you could always double the recipe and use it across several meals if you really love it and want to save yourself a little time.
